What are the Best Golf Clubs for Seniors?

As a senior golfer, your swing may not be as powerful as it used to be. Thatā€™s nothing to be ashamed about at all. In order to maintain your game, you just need to make some adjustments. One of the best things you can do is to change your clubs. There are many similaritiesĀ between clubs for seniors and those used by beginners. Pay special attention to the shaft as you will probably need a more flexible shaft to compensate for your slower swing speed. There is a good selection of senior clubs available on the market; here is our pick of the best golf clubs for seniors.

Just wantĀ the best? And not too worried about cost? Then these SpeedbladeĀ irons from TaylorMadeĀ could be for you. Ā Their specially designed club faces feature a lower center of gravity, which helps you get a higher ball launch, and longer distance. Ā The other key feature of these clubs is the ā€œSpeed Pocketā€,Ā a specially designed slot in the sole of club which increases clubface flexiblility on impact. Ā  WhenĀ mostĀ golfers mishit a ball, theyĀ hit too low on club face, resulting in a significat lossĀ of distance, height and carry on their shots. Ā The Speed Pocket relieves this problemĀ by helping consistently launchĀ your shots higher, and longer,Ā even if you make contact below the sweet spot.

You will definitely see an increase in your iron distance when using the SpeedBlade irons. Ā TheĀ ball will feel like it is ā€œjumpingā€Ā off of your club!

The only real downside of these clubs is that they are a bit expensive for the average Joe. Ā But, if you want a top-of-the-line iron set that looks amazing, and will definitely help you improve your distance, then these SpeedBlades are for you.

Note that this isĀ not a complete golf set ā€” it is just irons. Ā The SpeedBlades are available in multiple configurations. Ā For seniors, we recommend getting graphite shafts with ā€œSeniorā€ flex.

I’m a senior walking golfer, all I want to carry is- 3,5,7,9 irons (not hybrids) putter,
    Pitching wedge and a driver.

  2. I’am 66 years old and still hit my driver about 240(dead straight 99% of the time). My problem is my irons. I can’t seem to hit the sweet spot anymore, boy what a loss of distance. My irons are about 17 years old (Ping Eye 3). What do you recommend? I know I don’t turn like I use to.

  3. What is best for this senior golfer ? Change out x22 shafts for senior flex shafts or buy new set of irons and change driver,3,5, and rescue club shafts ?

  4. Hi There,

I am living in Phuket Thailand. I am 67, 1m66, handicap 11. What kind of clubs would you recommend ? What are the shipping costs involved ? How do I order ?

    Seven

  5. I am 66 and only 5-6. I had hip surgery 5 years ago and want to get back playing again. I need a new set of clubs to get back in the game again. High handicapper but I love the game.

  6. I used to play a lot when I was younger with my old Walter Hagen golf set. After 30 years of not playing golf and as being 64 years old, I went out to play a couple of rounds last fall with these same old clubs I have and I wasn’t please with them. I couldn’t hit the ball like I used to and I know I have to practice a lot but not with these clubs. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks

  7. I’m a 64 yr old male average sized with lower back problems. Been toying with idea of purchasing Ladies clubs.
    1.Would they be suitable?
    2. Do they tend to be shorter as I have found I play better if I grip down the shaft slightly on all clubs?
    3. Is there a discernible loss of distance?
    Thanks in advance.
